The Cornalin comes from Valais, the largest wine region in Switzerland, and is responsible for a third of the country's wine production. The Cornalin is a red grape varietal that is indigenous to this particular region and is characterized by its rustic quality and soft tannic structure which would make it an easygoing choice of red. The nose comes off with notes of plum, dark fruits, sweet spices, and hints of pepper. The Cornalin has slight aging potential but is best enjoyed early. This particular bottle is made from vines that over 30 years. The Cornalin Reserve is aged for 12 months in French oak barrique that is 50% new oak before bottling. This Cornalin would pair well with meats such as charcuterie, turkey, chicken and pork.
